Upper DivisionThe Upper Division Honors component serves as a catalyst for increasing the experiential content of undergraduate experience. The research and projects developed serve as models to advance both undergraduate student development and the mission of a world class research institution. Upper Division Honors provides opportunities for junior and senior students to complete intensive research and creative projects under the guidance of faculty mentors. Students engage in research and design projects which culminate in the completion of a scholarly work. This initiative creates a framework, one that enhances the campuses efforts to augment the scholarship of learning and teaching in preparing students for graduate education, the workplace, and responsible citizenship. The Upper Division Honors experience fosters integrative undergraduate research and service learning research projects, in addition to traditional research, from all colleges and majors on campus. Student work is showcased through many venues both on and off campus. Students participate in the campus wide undergraduate research symposium, as well as conferences held at other colleges and universities.
