Honors, the place to make a difference

Why Honors is a Good Choice for Your Student

Every parent wants his or her student to succeed in college. University Honors is a small, tight-knit community of scholars within UCR’s large, research-university environment. University Honors emphasizes scholarship, engagement, and student success by providing students with immediate access to campus resources, student success services, and meaningful opportunities to connect with their peers, staff members, and faculty members.

University Honors offers a variety of seminar classes that broaden the student’s college experience. Each honors class is small, usually under twenty students, and features one-on-one interaction with the professor. Many professors teach courses specific to their areas of emphasis, giving students unique access to groundbreaking research and development.

  • For parents of incoming freshman Honors students, please note that the UCR Alumni Association awards nine $4,000 scholarships to incoming freshman. All applicants will go through a screening process by regional alumni committees. Please click here for more information. Deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
