Engagement & Development

Honors, the place to make a difference

Point System

Get points for engaging in Honors events & activities! At the end of each year, all Honors students are required to earn a minimum of 5 engagement points. Points reset at the end of each year. Honors events & activities are centered on the 3 pillars and are designed to help you network with Honors students and faculty and connect you to helpful resources.

Students must earn 2 points in the Fall quarter, 2 points in the Winter quarter, and 1 point in the Spring quarter.  Even if you earn more than the minimum required amount per quarter, you are still required to earn the minimum amount for the subsequent quarter. If you have questions about this requirement, please contact your designated Honors Counselor.

Top students who have earned the most points for their house will be given a year-end award.

Honors events points info can be found here & will be sent via e-mail.
Be sure to check your UCR email daily!

Media Waiver Agreement

When attending any Honors activity/event, students may be filmed and/or photographed by the University Honors Media Team. As such, students are required to acknowledge that they have read and fully understand the terms of the Media Waiver when they RSVP to any University Honors activity/event on the online RSVP form for that activity/event.  The online RSVP form will be e-mailed by University Honors to its students for any given activity/event.

House Points

The house with the most students at an Honors event or activity will be awarded extra house points. The house with the most points at the end of year will win the house cup for that year!
