If I am invited to apply to University Honors, does that mean that I have been admitted to UCR?
Yes. University Honors only invites students who have been admitted to UCR and meet eligibility requirements. If you have questions about admission to UCR, please contact Undergraduate Admissions.

Can I apply to University Honors if I have not yet decided to attend UCR?
Yes! Applying to University Honors does not commit you to attend UCR. However, we hope your invitation encourages you to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to our campus.

If I am accepted to University Honors, but decide to attend another UC, will my admission to Honors transfer to the other campus?
No. You will need to contact the Honors program at your chosen UC campus to inquire about their admission process.

If I do not meet the eligibility criteria to apply as an incoming first-year student, when will be my next opportunity to apply?
First-year UCR students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5, or above, at the end of winter quarter will be invited to apply. If accepted, they will join University Honors as second-year students during fall quarter of the following academic year.

Can current UCR students apply to University Honors?
Yes. Current first-year and second-year UCR students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the end of winter quarter will be invited to apply. However, current third-year and fourth-year students are not eligible. Admission will be contingent upon final GPA calculations at the conclusion of spring quarter.

When is the deadline to apply?
Please review the application deadline specified in the e-mail inviting you to apply. Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

My cumulative GPA met the requirement, but I did not receive and invitation. What can I do?
Invitations to apply are sent to students who meet the GPA requirement based on the GPA data calculated and provided by the University of California. If you have any questions please contact us at honors@ucr.edu.
